Quick Fixes

Before diving into specific issues, try these quick fixes:

  1. Refresh the page - Simple but often effective
  2. Restart Chrome - Clears temporary issues
  3. Check internet connection - Required for uploads
  4. Update Chrome - Ensure you're on the latest version
  5. Reinstall extension - Fixes most persistent issues

Common Issues

Extension icon doesn't appear

Solutions:

  1. Check if extension is installed

    • Go to chrome://extensions/
    • Look for "NotebookLM Quick"
    • Ensure it's enabled (toggle should be blue)
  2. Pin the extension

    • Click the puzzle icon in Chrome toolbar
    • Find NotebookLM Quick
    • Click the pin icon
  3. Reinstall if necessary

    • Uninstall from chrome://extensions/
    • Reinstall from Chrome Web Store

Can't sign in with Google

Solutions:

  1. Check browser permissions

    • Go to chrome://extensions/
    • Click Details on NotebookLM Quick
    • Ensure permissions are granted
  2. Clear browser cache

    • Go to chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
    • Select "Cached images and files"
    • Clear data and try again
  3. Check third-party cookies

    • Go to chrome://settings/cookies
    • Ensure third-party cookies aren't blocked
    • Add exception for notebooklmquick.com

PDF generation fails

Solutions:

  1. Check page compatibility

    • Some pages may block PDF generation
    • Try a different web page to test
    • Complex pages may take longer
  2. Disable other extensions

    • Temporarily disable other extensions
    • Test PDF generation again
  3. Check permissions

    • Extension needs "debugger" permission for PDFs
    • Verify all permissions are granted

⚠️ Note: Some websites actively block PDF generation. This is outside our control.

Upload to NotebookLM fails

Solutions:

  1. Verify NotebookLM access

    • Open notebooklm.google.com
    • Ensure you're signed in
    • Check if notebooks are loading
  2. Check notebook selection

    • Verify correct notebook is selected
    • Try refreshing notebook list
  3. Wait a moment

    • Uploads may take 5-10 seconds
    • Refresh NotebookLM page to see new content

YouTube playlist feature not working

Solutions:

  1. Verify Pro subscription

  2. Check playlist permissions

    • Ensure playlist is public
    • Private playlists won't work
  3. Try single video first

    • Test with one video from playlist
    • If that works, try full playlist again

Browser-Specific Issues

Chrome on Windows

  • Permission pop-ups: Windows may show additional security warnings
  • Firewall: Check Windows Firewall isn't blocking
  • Antivirus: Some antivirus software may interfere

Chrome on Mac

  • Gatekeeper: May need to approve extension in System Preferences
  • Privacy settings: Check permissions if needed

Chrome on Linux

  • Package managers: Ensure Chrome is official build
  • Permissions: May need additional user permissions
